Live from Shop Penn, it’s RADIOKISMET! The podcast studio has joined the Shop Penn retail district and has transformed the space at 130 S. 34th Street into the newest RADIOKISMET audio recording studio and creative incubator. The new studio will help to expand the company’s network and cultivate an innovative community of student and teacher audiophiles, driven to participate in a professional audio collaboration.

RADIOKISMET is a podcast network offering a platform to diverse and ambitious voices sharing in their mission to broadcast Made in Philly creative and educational audio content. Over the course of one year, the company has produced and partnered with 16 podcasts that total over 250k downloads, with listeners spanning 60+ countries. They are adding more podcasts to their lineup every month, on topics including community, hospitality, entrepreneurship, arts, sciences and entertainment.  “Penn is committed to engaging new popular concepts within the district, enhancing it as a destination for goods, services, entertainment, and education.  RADIOKISMET is an exciting new addition to the Shop Penn retail portfolio, providing a unique space for students and the surrounding community to utilize the studio, attend live podcast recordings, and hear from local Philadelphia content creators,” said Ed Datz, Penn’s Executive Director of Real Estate.”

The space has recently undergone a renovation transforming into a hybrid retail/event venue, including a seated performance area for up to seventy people, recording studio, office space and more.  “As part of the Shop Penn district, RADIOKISMET offers the community access to a network of creative producers, a team of audio professionals, knowledge of technical equipment and software, and a new recording studio acting as a HQ for creatives, visionaries, artists, and dreamers,” said Christopher Plant, Founder of RADIOKISMET. The company aims to have 2-3 shows per week inviting community members to attend live recording sessions on thought leadership, personal and professional development classes and more. The addition of RADIOKISMET to the district will provide an opportunity to showcase many Penn podcasts with an already wide range of genre and listenership, but also envisions creating new synergies with enhanced local content.
