Sunday Sips – Grant BLVD

Gran BLVD is excited to share with their Happy Hour Summer Series starting in July. They will be hosting their first event on Sunday, July 2nd starting at 1pm where Dr. Kimberly McGlonn, CEO and Founder of Grant BLVD, will be leading conversation in community with women like yourself. And what's a mixer without drinks?! Mark your calendars to join them for a lovely time.
Garden Jams – Penn Museum

Penn Museum’s outdoor summer concert series returns as Garden Jams, a low-key, high-chill, al fresco scene in Stoner Courtyard at the rose-gold hour. Unwind to world music by local Philly bands. Grab small bites and sips from food trucks and a garden bar fully stocked with wine, beer, and non-alcoholic refreshments. Feel free to BYO blanket and picnic essentials and find your spot amid a hidden and historic urban oasis under the sky. Concerts move indoors during inclement weather.
LOVEFEST2023 – World Café Live
July 7
Summer is in full swing, which means the weather is amazing, and the HYPE! returns to the Music Hall at World Cafe Live to present LoveFest, a celebration of good music and great energy featuring some of the region’s best artists. The music will be pumping, AC will be on, and you’re off the next day, so come on out and feel the love, we’re going to have an awesome time.
Terence Nance: Swarm – Institute of Contemporary Art (LAST CHANCE)

Terence Nance: Swarm is the first solo museum presentation dedicated to the artist’s genre-defying and innovative practice. The exhibition highlights the artist’s experimentation in film, video, television, sound and performance during the ten-year period spanning 2012 to 2022. The title of the exhibition, Swarm, is a tribute to the community of friends and family Nance built around him in Brooklyn in the early to mid-2000s.
Carolyn Lazard: Long Take – Institute of Contemporary Art (LAST CHANCE)

Carolyn Lazard (b. 1987, Penn MFA ’19) works across mediums to consider the aesthetic and material dimensions of dependency, care, and access. Long Take, the artist’s debut solo exhibition in Philadelphia, attends to the legacy of “dance for camera,” a form of choreography for film and video that emerged in the 1960s. This experimental artistic tradition questioned not only where a performance occurs but also how an audience might experience it.
De Tierra Caliente – World Café Live
July 15
A Latin fusion band whose music fills the air with bright colors and gets everybody up and dancing. Catchy melodies and unaffected lyrics fuse with Latin, Caribbean and Brazilian rhythms to inspire an irresistible North/South American party. Since its formation in 2014, this flavorful band from Philly and Puerto Rico has released 2 full-length albums and played hundreds of shows throughout the US, Colombia, Brazil and Puerto Rico. De Tierra Caliente delivers the sabor, spice and alegría of warm-weather countries to American audiences, where formidable winters and nose-to-the-grindstone work ethic sometimes overshadow simple pleasures like sharing a meal with friends or going out dancing.

Beta Hi-Fi Emerging Artist Festival – World Café Live
July 26-29
Beta Hi-Fi is World Cafe Live’s FREE multi-day emerging music festival featuring some of the Philly region’s best new artists! Spanning from July 26-29, World Café Live continues its tradition of providing a platform for local musicians to perform for a broader audience. Each night, three hand-picked artists will perform a 20-30 minute set to a rotating panel of judges from the Philly music scene. The winning artist from each night will return Saturday to compete for cash and other career-boosting prizes. Beta Hi-Fi serves as a showcase for industry professionals and fans alike. Whether you’re an artist, friend, family, or just a music lover, go hang out and discover new music!
The Gathering – The Rotunda

Established in 1996, The Gathering is the longest/strongest-running truly Hip Hop event in Philly. The Gathering is b-boys/b-girls, pop-lockers, emcees, graffiti writers, DJs, men, women, and children of all ages enjoying an organic, community-based celebration of the struggle, the Love, and the culture of Hip Hop. DJs spin Hip hop, breaks, and funk all night, and there are open cyphas, a tag wall, and a featured performance and graffiti panel.
